IndiGo Vadodara–Delhi flight faces 30-Minute Power failure, Passengers left without AC

Passengers aboard an IndiGo flight from Vadodara to Delhi experienced significant discomfort after a power disruption left the aircraft without electricity and air conditioning for nearly 30 minutes before departure.
The incident occurred on flight 6E 657, scheduled to depart from Vadodara at 8:40 pm on May 17, 2026. According to reports, around 160 passengers had already boarded when the ground power unit (GPU), which supplies electricity to parked aircraft, developed a technical fault.
As a result, the cabin went completely dark and the air conditioning system stopped functioning, leaving passengers sweating in the confined space. The aircraft was dependent on the external power supply at the time of the failure.
Technical teams took around 12 to 15 minutes to repair the fault, followed by another 15 minutes to fully restore power inside the aircraft. After the issue was resolved, normal operations resumed and the flight was prepared for departure.
Airport officials confirmed that no safety incident occurred, though passengers faced considerable inconvenience due to the sudden outage.A
