Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel inaugurates Rs 175 cr cable stayed flyover on Gandhinagar-Ahmedabad corridor

Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on Sunday inaugurated a ₹175-crore cable-stayed flyover at Bhat Crossroads on the Gandhinagar-Ahmedabad Airport Road, marking a major boost to the state's urban transport infrastructure.
The six-lane flyover has been jointly developed by the Roads and Buildings Department and the Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority (AUDA), with both agencies sharing the project cost equally. The bridge has now been opened to the public to ease traffic movement between Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar and the airport.
The newly inaugurated flyover is Gujarat's first urban cable-stayed bridge and is expected to significantly reduce congestion at the busy Bhat Circle junction. Officials said the project will improve connectivity, shorten travel time and provide smoother movement for commuters using one of the state's busiest road corridors.

Speaking at the inauguration, Chief Minister Patel said the project reflects the state government's commitment to building world-class infrastructure and supporting Gujarat's rapid urban growth. The flyover is part of broader efforts to modernise the Ahmedabad-Gandhinagar transport network and strengthen connectivity across the region.
