Delhi Police resolves 368 grievances received during Thana Divas-Jansunwai
The Delhi Police has resolved 368 complaints and grievances received during public hearings held at police stations across the national Capital on Saturday as part of its Thana Divas-Jansunwai initiative.
The initiative, launched in June, followed directions from Delhi Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu to strengthen public outreach, improve accessibility to police services and ensure prompt grievance redressal.
The programme is conducted under the leadership of Delhi Police Commissioner Anurag Kumar, providing citizens a direct platform to raise concerns, seek assistance and give suggestions related to police functioning and public safety.
According to a Delhi Police statement on Sunday, Jansunwai or public hearing programmes were held at police stations across the city on August 8. Police said 368 complaints and grievances were received, and all were resolved.
Senior police officers visited the police stations, interacted with citizens, took cognisance of their grievances, and ensured appropriate action, the statement read.
Under the initiative, public hearings are held every Saturday from 10 am to 2 pm, allowing people to present complaints, suggestions and requests for assistance.
“The presence of senior officers during the hearings is aimed at expediting grievance redressal, strengthening accountability and enhancing public confidence in police,” the statement said.
