Delhi CEO to hold special voter revision camps

The Delhi election office will organise special camps at all polling station locations and universities and colleges across the city as part of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, according to an official letter.
The camps at all polling station locations will be held on October 4 and 11 from 10 am to 5 pm, while those at colleges and universities will be organised on October 7 and 8 from 9 am to 3 pm, it said.
The decision has been taken to maximise enrolment of eligible electors in the electoral rolls in the Capital, the letter issued by the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer on Thursday, it said.
The Additional Chief Electoral Officer, Delhi, has directed all 13 District Election Officers to ensure the organisation of the camps across the city. The letter further directed Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) and Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs) of all 70 assembly constituencies to ensure their full participation in the camps being organised at polling station locations and educational institutions.
The camps come as the SIR exercise in Delhi enters its final phase. The revised schedule published by the Delhi CEO’s office provides for disposal of claims and objections up to October 3 and publication of the final electoral roll on October 7, it said.
The Delhi CEO’s office has said the SIR is aimed at ensuring that eligible citizens are included in the electoral roll while ineligible persons are not included.
