DDA cuts grievance pendency by over 85% in first half of 2026

The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has reduced grievance pendency by more than 85 per cent in the first half of this year, resolving nearly 20,000 complaints across multiple platforms, officials said on Saturday.
According to the DDA, pending grievances declined from 22,946 at the beginning of the year to 3,167 by the end of June.
A total of 19,779 grievances received through platforms including the LG Listening Post, CM Jan Sunwai/PGMS, DRMS, Mobile 311 and Samasya Nidan Sewa were resolved during the period, it said in a statement.
The DDA said the improvement followed directions issued by Delhi Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu, who had asked all departments to adopt responsive, efficient and citizen-centric governance.
“Soon after taking charge, the LG instructed all departments to adopt responsive, efficient and citizen-centric governance to achieve the goal of Viksit Delhi. In preliminary meetings with DDA officials, he specifically directed proactive handling of citizen complaints and expeditious disposal of cases,” the statement said.
To strengthen public outreach, the DDA now conducts bi-weekly public hearings every working Monday and Thursday.
People can visit and interact directly with Dy. Directors and Directors (between 2:30 pm and 4:30 pm) and Commissioners and above (between 2:30 pm and 3:30 pm) on these days without prior appointment. The authority said around 6,000 people visit DDA offices every month on public hearing days.
“The Authority will continue to reinforce its grievance redressal mechanism through technology-enabled monitoring, regular performance reviews, bi-weekly public hearings, enhanced departmental accountability and sustained follow-up to ensure that public grievances are resolved promptly, transparently and effectively,” it said.
