CM Rekha, Nabin lead Tiranga Yatra from India Gate to Kartavya Path

A grand Tiranga Yatra was held on Wednesday from India Gate to Kartavya Path under the leadership of Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta. The yatra took place in the presence of BJP National President and MP Nitin Nabin and Delhi BJP President Harsh Malhotra, with thousands of school and college students, NCC cadets, and NSS volunteers carrying the Tricolour along the route from India Gate via Rafi Marg to Kartavya Path.

Delhi Cabinet Ministers Parvesh Sahib Singh, Ashish Sood, Manjinder Singh Sirsa, and Ravindra Indraj Singh were also present. The yatra was organised by the Delhi Government as part of the nationwide Har Ghar Tiranga campaign ahead of Independence Day on August 15.

The participation of school and college students alongside NCC cadets and NSS volunteers was a central feature of the event. Carrying the national flag through the route, the young participants reflected both the scale of the mobilisation and the government’s effort to link the independence anniversary to active youth involvement in public civic expression.

The Chief Minister said August 15 is not only a celebration of independence but also an opportunity to reflect on India’s development journey since independence across fields including science, technology, the economy, education, and infrastructure. She said the journey represents the hard work and collective contribution of crores of citizens, and Independence Day gives an opportunity to measure how far the country has come from where it started.

She urged every Delhi resident to hoist the Tricolour at their home and share selfies with the flag on social media. She described Har Ghar Tiranga not merely as a campaign but as a collective expression of respect, pride, and unity toward the nation.

BJP National President Nitin Nabin said Har Ghar Tiranga has become a powerful campaign of public participation at the call of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, with people from every section of society joining with respect for the Tricolour and pride in the nation.

Nabin urged people to participate in the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign on August 13, 14 and 15 by hoisting the national flag at their houses and taking selfies with it. On 13, 14, and 15 August, for three days, the honour of the Tricolour must be carried forward in every home. The Tricolour must be hoisted at our homes, selfies must be taken with it, and the resolve must be taken that we will build their own future and adopt the resolve of building and developing India’s future,” he said.

The Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, which the central government has been running since 2022 as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, encourages every household to hoist the national flag in the days surrounding Independence Day.
