CM Rekha calls trade a pillar of Viksit Bharat
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta attended the Bharatiya Vyapar Mahotsav 2026 at Bharat Mandapam on Friday. The Chief Minister described trade and entrepreneurship as strong pillars of India’s economic strength under the Viksit Bharat vision.
The festival, organised to coincide with Independence Day, serves as a national platform to showcase India’s trade potential, entrepreneurship, innovation and self-reliance. The Chief Minister extended her best wishes to the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) and the India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO) for organising the event, calling it more than a trade exhibition. She said the festival was an important opportunity to highlight the contribution of traders, entrepreneurs, manufacturers, MSMEs and startups to India’s economic progress. MP and CAIT Secretary General Praveen Khandelwal, CAIT National President B C Bhartia and other dignitaries attended the event alongside the Chief Minister.
The Chief Minister said that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, the vision of “Vocal for Local,” “Local to Global” and “Atmanirbhar Bharat” has grown into a mass movement. She said traders, entrepreneurs, startups, MSMEs and manufacturers were now key drivers of this shift, with India-made products gaining recognition in global markets.
