CM inaugurates STEM Innovation Lab at Pitampura Govt school

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Thursday inaugurated a Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Innovation Lab at Sarvodaya Vidyalaya in Pitampura. The lab was developed with support from the Shikhar Dhawan Foundation, HMD India, and Da One Group, with cricketer and Da One Group Chairman Shikhar Dhawan present at the event alongside Education Department officials, teachers, and students.
The Chief Minister said the STEM Innovation Lab is not just a laboratory but the beginning of a new era of innovation and scientific thinking for Delhi’s students. She said science, technology, engineering, and mathematics are not merely academic subjects but the foundation of the economy of the future and of nation-building.
She said the Delhi Government aims to equip every government school with modern facilities, digital technology, and innovation-driven learning resources so that students are prepared for future challenges. Rather than limiting students to textbook learning, the need of the hour is hands-on, experiment-based education, creative thinking, and problem-solving skills, she said.
The Chief Minister said the lab will encourage students to work on new ideas, develop a scientific outlook, and find solutions to real-life problems. She said students in government schools today will become tomorrow’s scientists, engineers, innovators, startup founders, and nation-builders, and the government’s goal is to ensure every child has equal access to modern resources and quality education.
She expressed gratitude to the Shikhar Dhawan Foundation, HMD India, and Da One Group for their support and said partnerships between the government and private sector can serve as a powerful catalyst for positive change in education. She expressed hope that similar collaborations would further strengthen Delhi’s education system.
The inauguration is part of a broader push by the Delhi government to upgrade infrastructure in government schools.
