Bengaluru traffic comes to a halt as Cobra sits on busy road for nearly 30 minutes

Commuters in Bengaluru witnessed an unusual traffic disruption after a cobra parked itself in the middle of the busy Palace Road, bringing vehicles to a crawl for nearly 30 minutes. The rare incident, captured on video, has since gone viral on social media.
The cobra was seen with its hood fully spread, refusing to move despite the growing line of vehicles waiting at a safe distance. Motorists and pedestrians watched cautiously as the snake remained in the middle of the road, turning an ordinary evening commute into an unexpected wildlife encounter.
A video of the incident shared online described the reptile as Bengaluru's "newest VIP", joking that it had chosen the middle of the road for a "30-minute evening meditation session" without any concern for traffic rules. The post quickly drew humorous reactions from social media users.
Police personnel later reached the spot and safely rescued the cobra, ensuring that neither the reptile nor the commuters were harmed. Traffic resumed soon after the snake was removed from the road.
The incident also highlights how urban areas frequently overlap with natural habitats, especially during the monsoon season when snakes are more likely to emerge from their shelters and enter populated areas.
