Army neutralises suspected explosive in Manipur

On April 30, 2026 during a routine patrol in the vicinity of Moulsang village in Churachandpur district, Manipur, troops of the Indian Army detected a suspected explosive device in the area, posing a potential threat to civilian lives in the area.
Based on the inputs, the Engineers of the Red Shield Division swiftly mobilised a Bomb Disposal Team to the location. The area was cordoned and all necessary safety precautions were put in place. The presence of explosives was confirmed with the help of an Explosive Detector Dog to enable an accurate assessment of the threat.
The Bomb Disposal Team carried out an in-situ destruction of the suspected Unexploded Ordinance of an old vintage, in a controlled manner, neutralising the threat without any collateral damage.
This successful operation reaffirms the Indian Army’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding civilian lives and preserving peace and security in the region.
