Adani Group Announces Major Internal Overhaul to Speed Up Decisions and Boost Growth

Billionaire Gautam Adani has announced a major internal transformation plan for the Adani Group aimed at speeding up decision-making, improving contractor partnerships, and strengthening workforce development as part of the conglomerate’s long-term growth strategy.
Speaking on International Labour Day, Adani said the group will implement a “three-layer model” to reduce organisational hierarchy and accelerate execution. He stated that decisions that currently take days will be completed within hours to improve efficiency across operations.
The first pillar of the overhaul focuses on flattening the organisational structure to ensure faster decision-making and clearer accountability. Adani said reducing layers within the system will increase speed, energy, and responsiveness across the group.
The second pillar introduces a new partnership model designed to streamline relationships with contractors, suppliers, and vendors. Instead of working with a large number of contractors, the group plans to engage a smaller set of accountable partners to improve coordination and execution speed.
The third pillar focuses on learning and development. The group plans to strengthen employee training through the proposed Adani Training Academy, enabling workers to upgrade skills and progress from unskilled to leadership roles over time.
Adani said the transformation aligns with India’s broader development vision of becoming a developed nation by 2047, adding that such goals require collective effort from all citizens and organisations.
He highlighted the group’s rapid expansion, noting that Adani Group expects to match decades of infrastructure creation within a single year amid ongoing large-scale projects across ports, renewable energy, and airports.
Key projects mentioned include Mundra Port, Vizhinjam Port in Kerala, the Khavda renewable energy park in Gujarat, and the Navi Mumbai International Airport. He also referred to the Dharavi redevelopment project as a major urban transformation initiative.
Adani further outlined workforce welfare measures, including local hiring, skill development programmes, and improved living facilities such as worker housing and large-scale meal services at project sites.
He concluded by emphasising that employees are central to the group’s growth story, calling them “nation-builders” contributing to India’s economic development journey.
