3 Killed, 5 injured in car-container truck collision on Agra-Lucknow Expressway

3 people lost their lives and 5 others sustained injuries after a car collided with a container truck on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway in Uttar Pradesh's Agra district on Monday, police said.
The accident occurred in the Fatehabad area when a car carrying 8 passengers was travelling from Bihar to Rajasthan. According to officials, the vehicle rammed into a container truck on the expressway, resulting in a fatal crash.
The deceased have been identified as Sunil (26), his elder brother Shankar (30), and Shankar’s wife Preeti (29). All three died due to the impact of the collision.
The injured include driver Soheb (35), Parmila (31), Pooja Kumari (32), Raju (35), and Ayansh (6). They were rushed to a nearby hospital and are currently undergoing treatment.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Imran Ahmad said police teams reached the accident site immediately after receiving information. Rescue personnel from a nearby toll plaza also assisted in the operation and helped evacuate the victims.
The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination, while authorities have launched further investigations into the circumstances surrounding the accident.
Officials said the damaged vehicles were removed promptly, ensuring that traffic movement on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway remained largely unaffected.
