'Youth should be pro-active participants in nation-building'

Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari laid foundation stone of a new campus building of Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies (SSCBS) in Rohini.

Speaking on the occasion, Gadkari said our higher education policies should imbibe expansion of knowledge, equity of knowledge in all segments of society and create excellence in the students so that they can contribute their best in the development of nation. The youth should be pro-active participants in nation-building.

Gadkari said a profound objective of education is transformation of the individual and the nation. India has the largest young population in the world. It poses both a challenge and an opportunity to our policymakers to harness  the youth power productively by equipping them with relevant knowledge and skills.

The new five acre building offers SSCBS a chance to enhance its infrastructural facilities, enabling it to offer a higher quality of education and learning to the students. This state-of-the-art building, being built at a cost of Rs132.47 crore, would fulfil the long-cherished dream of SSCBS to move into its own building. The estimated period for realising this dream is 24 months.
