Youth shot at on Delhi-Gurugram road

A youth was injured when he was shot at by three bike-borne unidentified assailants  on the busy old Delhi-Gurugram road around 11 am on Monday. The incident took place in full public view and the assailants managed to flee the spot unchallenged.

One of his accomplice fled the spot soon after the incident. The injured was immediately rushed to the nearby hospital where he is said to be out of danger.

According to the police, the victim has been identified as Yogesh Yadav (24) a resident of Dundahera village in Gurugram.

He received two gunshots in his leg when he was going with Manish, alias Goga, an alleged gangster. When they reached the stretch the three bike-borne goons fired on them.

During the firing, Yogesh received two gunshot injuries while Manish fled the spot unhurt.

The police suspect that the criminals had some personal enmity with Goga and wanted to take revenge. Goga was out on bail in a murder case lodged against him at the Palam Vihar police station.

The firing was reported around 11 am when three men on a bike arrived at the spot, police said.

“The assailants fired five rounds at Yogesh and Manish. Almost immediately they drove away. An FIR has been registered against the trio under relevant sections of the  Indian Penal Code (IPC) including arms Act at the Palam Vihar police station and further probe is on,” said Ravinder Kumar, the  Public Relation Officer (PRO)  of Gurugram police.

The Police are trying to gather information about the incident and also scanning the CCTV cameras installed at the nearby spot. The investigation team is also verifying the record about the injured person if he was involved in any crime.
