In yet another incident of sexual assault, the Gurugram Police on Friday arrested a 20-year-old man who had allegedly raped a widow and her minor daughter multiple times. According to the police, the accused, identified as Ashish Kumar, was arrested from Rajendra Park area around 11.00 am on Friday.
The rape survivor filed a complaint with the police on Thursday night. In her complaint, the victim alleged that the accused, a resident of Gokulpuri in Delhi, had met her 25 days ago at Rajendra Park market and befriended her. During the conversation, he managed to get the address of the victim.
In the first meeting, Ashish realised that the woman was a widow and was living alone with her daughter and son. He visited her home in the evening and allegedly forced himself on her. At that time the survivor’s childrens were out of the house.
“A few days later, he again came to my home and threatened me again and even made an objectionable video. After some weeks, he blackmailed and raped me repeatedly,” the victim alleged in her complaint.
The accused later raped her 15-year-old daughter and also made her video. The accused started blackmailing and threatening against raising an alarm and warned that he will upload their videos on the internet.
Fed up with being abused and blackmailed, the widow approached the police for action on Thursday.
“We have arrested the accused and the case against the accused has been registered under relevant Sections of the IPC including Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) at Rajendra Park police station. Further probe is underway,” ACP Manish Sehgal, spokesperson Gurugram police, said.
The accused was produced before the concerned court and has been sent to judicial custody.
