A 40-year-old yoga trainer was strangulated by her husband who suspected her to be in a relationship with someone.
The incident took place on Tuesday. The victim has been identified as Ravneet Kaur, a resident of Model Town-3.
The woman was taken to the Pentamed Hospital around 5.30 am where she was declared brought dead, they said.
She was strangulated by her husband Paramjeet Singh (45), a senior police official said.
Kaun was a yoga trainer and she used to go to gym twice a day. Singh suspected her of having an affair and strangulate her, the official said.
The post-mortem report came on Saturday which stated that she was manually strangulated and there was no external injury mark. Later, her husband Singh was arrested the same day, police said.
They both were married for 20 years. The elder daughter of the couple studies in Pune. Singh’s younger daughter and his parents were present in the house when the incident happened, however, they were at different rooms, police said.
Singh runs a car accessories shop in Kashmiri Gate, police added.
