Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday advised Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers to avoid political ego and work hard to ensure victory in 2019 lok Sabha elections. He also asked party workers to interact with the people from every section of the society to win their trust.
Addressing the party workers at its national executive meeting in New Delhi, the Home Minister criticised the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Government in Delhi for its “confrontationist attitude”.
“Delhi has a special significance in national politics as it is the national Capital. We are extending our best support to the Delhi Government for developments but confrontationist attitude of the AAP Government is restraining development projects,” said Rajnath.
Singh also criticised the Congress’ act of taking national issues to other countries as an act of immaturity and asserted that’s the reason people are rejecting them, saying, “By taking national issues to international forums, Congress leadership has shown its immaturity and people are repeatedly rejecting Congress in polls,” he said .
“World as well as country people today feel that BJP is best party to govern India,” he added. Referring to the survey conducted among 2,464 respondents in India carried out by the Pew Research Centre last year, the Home Minister said, “An international survey has shown 88 per cent feel Narendra Modi is the best Prime Minister for India, while 70 per cent people have rated the BJP as the best political party.” “Today India is the fastest growing economy with stabilised GDP (Gross Domestic Product) and greater ease of doing business. Now, we have highest foreign reserves as ever,” he said further.
The Home Minister also said that under the BJP’s leadership “we have made our borders better guarded and we are always ready to retaliate in Defence, “We have almost contained Naxalism and terrorism,” Rajnath added.
Meanwhile, Delhi BJP chief Tiwari accused Delhi Government of neglecting the homeless in the national Capital that has resulted in the death of over 200 people.
BJP National Spokesperson Anil Jain said Delhi gave our alma mater Jansangh its first electoral wins and we need to reassess what has gone amiss that we are missing power in Delhi since 1998.
Jain also called for better Booth Management and ensuring all 6 basic programmes fixed for booth level on all of around 11400 polling booths in Delhi.
He said National leadership doors are open for workers of Delhi fighting against a self centered Government.
