Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party president Manoj Tiwari has said the Delhi BJP will not allow the Delhi Government and private power operators nexus to hike power tariff in Delhi. Tiwari has said people of Delhi are already paying a high power tariff and the power discoms, in which Delhi Government and private operators are partners, have been making hefty profits.
"The operational losses or loss due to theft too are lowest in Delhi and in fact the Private Operators are enjoying benefits of huge infrastructure they got from the earlier Delhi Vidyut Board," BJP leader said further. Delhi BJP demands that instead of allowing any power tariff hike Delhi Government should ask Private Operators to put their accounts for public scrutiny audit and if they refuse Government should discontinue agreement with them.
"We supported the RWAs opposing power tariff hike by boycotting DERC meeting and soon we will convene a meeting of RWAs to raise the issue afresh and extend all our support to the cause of people of Delhi," he added further.
