Unhappy with her partner for breaking the relationship, woman hired a gang for throwing acid on her. “This was revealed during the investigation by the police after a woman employee of Punjab National Bank (PNB) was attacked with acid by unidentified people, said the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ghaziabad, ) Vaibhav Krishna on Thusrday.
The SSP, said on Tuesday, acid was thrown on a woman employee of in which five co-passengers had sustained burns while they were travelling in an auto.
The injured persons were identified -the victim a 23 year old woman, Jai Chand, Kamla, Anil Tyagi, Anshu and Rahul all passengers.
He said that the two women were close friends about a year ago. The victim is a resident of lajpat Nagar in Ghaziabad while other one is the resident of Kondli in Delhi bordering Ghaziabad. Both were working in a private company in Noida. During their courtship of a year, their relations further deepened, said the SSP.
But after some time the woman started ignoring Anju Gupta and she felt bad. She tried to persuade her but she did not bother and was often seen around with her male friend identified as oneAnkit Budhiraja. Anju warned her several times but after finding no, she filed a police case in Noida a year ago. The case was registered under non cognizable report ( NCR). After this report she continued to chase her but failed in her attempts added SSP.
An auto rickshaw driver had noticed that Anju Gupta was following a woman and he offered her help. He along with one other auto rickshaw driver arranged acid to deface the woman. They attempted to throw acid on her on March 19 but failed in their attempt. After this on March 20, two auto rickshaw drivers who were identified Ravi and Salman, sought help from one lalu who runs a dying unit in loni area. lalu prepared a man who was identified Arjun to help them, the SSP said.
In order to execute their plan on March 20, Ravi drove motorcycle alongside auto rickshaw in which the woman was traveling with other passengers. Arjun who was sitting on motorcycle threw a plastic bag containing acid at the passengers aiming woman. Due to which all five persons sustained burns.
During investigation of the case all the involved persons were arrested- two auto owners Ravi, Salman, lalu owner of dying unit, Arjun who threw acid and Anju Gupta the woman who in relations with the victim. They have confessed their crime added SSP added.
