AAP MlA Alka lamba was molested by a youth in her own constituency Chandni Chowk while she was returning to Town Hall from a Government function on Thursday. In her complaint before police, she said the accused winked at her and also tried to touch her deliberately.
The incident happened in the noon when lamba was returning to Town Hall from Ghalib Ki Haveli after attending a Government function. She was walking down the street with some of her supporters.
“As I neared Town Hall, a person in his early 20s came at me and smiled. He suddenly came very close and winked at me. When I objected, he tried to touch me deliberately. I slapped him,” lamba told The Pioneer. “With the help of people around me, I managed to catch him and hand him over to police,” she said.
Police said that the accused, identified as Rajesh, is a resident of Baljeet Nagar. “We have received a written complaint and are looking into the matter,” said a police officer.
