Will start development ceased under AAP Govt, says Sheila

Delhi Congress president and party’s candidate from North East Parliamentary constituency Sheila Dikshit said that her party would start development in the national Capital that is ceased under the present Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Government.

Dikshit on Sunday visited several areas in her constituency.

She appealed people to cast their votes to the party as only the Congress can solve the problems of the people and ensure the all-round development of the area.

Addressing the gathering at Mustafabad’s Harijan Basti, East Karawal Nagar and Sadatpur, she accused AAP and the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) for stalling development of the city.

This election is going to be historic as it would end communal forces who keep trying to divide the people on the basis of caste and religion, she said, adding that the country was passing through a difficult phase as the Modi Government has ruined the social harmony in the last five years.

Criticising steps taken by the Centre such as introducing GST and demonetisation coupled with the sealing and demolition drive, she said that it had destroyed businesses and rendered lakhs of people unemployed.

“The people of Delhi are also fed up with the misrule of the AAP Government as

no useful work is being

done and the AAP leaders only make hollow promises for years,” she said.

Dikshit, who has been Chief Minister for the three terms between 1998 and 2013 will take on BJP’s sitting MP Manoj Tiwari and Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) Dilip Pandey in North-East constituency.

The eighty-one year old was last a Member of Parliament from 1984-89 from Kannauj.  Dikshit had unsuccessfully contested from East Delhi constituency in 1998. Again in 2013 Assembly polls, she was defeated by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
