A day after his rescue from the clutches of his kidnappers, Rathin Basu, the managing director of Alstom India, had a peaceful day with his family as concerned relatives and friends poured in at their Noida residence.
Basu thanked the police for their swift action and said he was determined to stay put in Noida despite the incident.
“I have no plans to leave the city. Me and my family will stay in Noida,” Basu told The Pioneer.
“I am trying to be relaxed and normal after the harrowing experience. I don’t want to recall those moments which I spent in their (kidnappers) custody. I had no enmity with anyone and I never received any threat call earlier. I am totally surprised with the nefarious trade of the criminals who kidnapped me for money. After the entire episode, I want to spend more time with my family. I’ll decide on joining office later,” he said.
Basu appeared to be satisfied over the security arrangements and said there was no fear in his mind now.
“Earlier I was a bit upset but after police’s cooperation I have decided to live in the city and carry my business on as usual,” he said.
Meanwhile, the police said there will be no let up in the security provided to Basu. “We are in touch with the Rathin Basu and are providing adequate security to avert recurrence of any unfortunate incident,” said Preetinder Singh, SSP Gautambudh Nagar.
