Reiterating Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s stand of not sending the Jan lokpal Bill for Centre’s approval for passing it before the Delhi Assembly, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Sunday said the party will go to any extent to pass the Bill. Party’s senior leader, Sanjay Singh asserted that the party will back Delhi Government’s stand on the Bill and they will ensure its passage in the Assembly.
Singh questioned the motive of the Centre, saying that the previous Sheila Dikshit Government had passed 13 Bills without any consent from the Home Ministry. “I fail to understand, what is the problem to pass an Anti-corruption BillIJ Why do Congress and BJP not want the Jan lokpal BillIJ A lot of Bills were passed by Congress without consulting the Centre,” he said.
Adding to this, party spokesperson Ashutosh said, “For 11 years, the Government has been making unconstitutional decisions, we are opposing that. Why should we send the Bill to the Centre when Delhi Government is not a department under the CentreIJ” he questioned.
Intensifying its pitch against corruption ahead of the lok Sabha polls, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Sunday announced that the jhadu chalao beymaan bhagao campaign will kick in from February 15. Elaborating upon the discussions during the political affairs committee meet, Singh said, “The meet discussed the strategy for the upcoming polls. The party will release the names of 50 candidates for lok Sabha polls by February 17.”
