In what could be a major poll plank for the BJP in the Delhi Assembly polls, Delhi BJP president Harsh Vardhan on Sunday said, the first issue he will discuss with the new Prime Minister would be full statehood for the national Capital in order to help overcoming the problem of multiple authorities.
Vardhan, who was BJP’s chief ministerial nominee in the Assembly polls, believes that there are many hurdles blocking the overall development of the city which will automatically get resolved if Delhi is given full statehood. “The first issue we will take up with Narendra Modi as the Prime Minister will be to grant full statehood for Delhi,” Vardhan said.
Exuding confidence that the Government under Modi will be able to address various issues faced by Delhiites, Vardhan said the Delhi BJP will apprise the new dispensation about key problems facing the city. “We will also take up with various key issues concerning Delhi. We will be pressing for resolving issues relating to the Delhi Master Plan 2021.We will take up issues relating to the three municipal corporations,” he added. Identifying water scarcity in Delhi is another major issue, which the Delhi BJP is going to solve soon.
