Taking his campaign to a new high, BJP’s candidate from the New Delhi Assembly constituency, Vijender Gupta, on Thursday, met the Vice President of India, Hamid Ansari, seeking his vote for the party in the December 4 polls. Handing over a pamphlet to Ansari, Gupta cited the issues concerning the posh constituency.

Ansari acknowledged the problem of shortage of water, but also promptly asked Gupta on what his agenda would be if voted to power.“Unlike MlA and Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, I will be available for the people of New Delhi. Water shortage will be solved in six months and I would ensure that new pipelines are laid,” Gupta replied. Besides, Ansari also asked, “Why shouldn’t I vote for DikshitIJ” to which Gupta said, “Being an MlA, she was never an MlA in the past 15 years. She always acted as the Chief Minister only.” Coming out of Ansari’s residence, Gupta said, “I went to him because he too is a resident of New Delhi. Now, I will go to the President also.”
