Delhi Congress on Tuesday sought to deny the reported move by JD(U) MlA from Matia Mahal, Shoaib Iqbal in forging unity between Delhi Congress and AAP for the formation of Government.
Sources in Congress said that Iqbal was doing it on behalf of Kejriwal but Congress has nothing to do with this move and the party will not extend support to AAP again. Talking to The Pioneer, Delhi Congress chief Arvinder Singh lovely made it clear that the party will not support any move by Iqbal and they will not support AAP. Questioning JD(U) MlA, the Congress leader questioned, “Who authorised Iqbal to talk to the CongressIJ We want immediate dissolution of the Assembly. We are ready for the elections. Why is the BJP avoiding an election when it is tom-tomming Narendra Modi’s achievementsIJ” asked lovely.
“Neither BJP nor AAP have number to form Government, so there should be fresh election in the national Capital. Both BJP and AAP will try to poach MlAs from other parties to form Government,” he said, adding AAP is the B team of BJP. “People in Delhi are regretting that they chose an anarchist Government which ran from its office in just 49 days from further taking its responsibility,” lovely alleged. The Congress leader said, “AAP is a party which has everything of its own in well scripted form in advance, even the Government which it ran and quit in 49 days was all in well scripted form.”
Demanding immediate dissolution of Delhi Assembly, Congress leader further sharpened its attack on BJP wondering why the ruling party at the Centre was shying away from facing fresh election in Delhi when its top leader and Prime Minister Narendra Modi was making “waves” in the entire country. Accusing BJP of grabbing power through unfair means, the Delhi Congress also challenged the party of placing on record name of the MlAs whom it expected to support to form a Government if lieutenant Governor extends an invite to take the reins. BJP was vitiating the political environment in the city by trying to offer money to MlAs from rival parties and accused the lt Governor of keeping his eyes wide shut to BJP’s “misdeeds”.
Earlier after the Supreme Court hearing, JD (U) leader Shoaib Iqbal claimed that he is in the touch with both Congress and AAP MlAs to prevent BJP for formation of Government. Iqbal claimed that he is trying to convince Congress leaders to support either Arvind Kejriwal or Manish Sisodia as Chief Minister. The JD(U) leader said if the Congress has some reservation on Kejriwal, they should support Sisodia. Meanwhile, Congress MlA Asif Mohammed Khan claimed that Iqbal and other AAP MlAs have contacted several times, asking him to convince Congress leadership to support AAP Government to prevent BJP.
