To ensure a corruption-free work culture in the Estate office-II of Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA), the department is going to launch a special WhatsApp number 9643201212, monitored by the Vigilance branch of HUDA soon.
Now the applicants/individuals can lodge formal complaints of any official persons while dealing with Estate Office of HUDA.
“The sole motto of this initiative is to ensure that we are just a click away from people and they can easily reach us. It is an attempt to bring greater transparency in a relationship with the residents. The new service will strengthen Estate office of HUDA,” said Vivek Kalia, Estate officer-II of Huda.
Kalia said, “we believe that the number of WhatsApp users is much higher than people using Facebook or Twitter, so it will help directly connect with more people.”
In order to ensure hassle free work in the department, recently the HUDA had blacklisted three architects for forging and submitting wrong information while applying for completion certificate (CC). The move was aimed to eradicate corruption in the department.
The department had also deducted Rs 500 off the salary of seven officials who did not upload the allotted application in the Plot and Property (PP) system on the department site. In this process, the concern officials have to mention the reason of delay on the file within the time period.
The officer said that building plan complaints, completion certified complaints, harassment by any officer or any other problems can also be sent through the messaging service. “This messenger will keep us constantly available to our citizens and ensure that they have no hassle in reaching us”, Kalia said.
The vigilance branch of HUDA will review all incoming messages and ensure prompt action against serious complaints especially cases of corruption reported with evidence. Wherever necessary, details of the complainant will be kept confidential, he added.
