Well-thought strategy of intimidation: BJP

Reacting to AAP’s decision to file writ petition in High Court against arrest of its MlAs, leader of Opposition Vijender Gupta said on Monday that the party is now acting “out of nervousness”. Instead of controlling the “crime-prone tendencies” of its “vulnerable” MlAs, the AAP is “building up pressure” on police to prevent further police action against its MlAs, he added.

“AAP’s decision to file writ petition in High Court is part of this well-thought strategy of intimidation. This is dangerous for the law and order situation as well as security and dignity of women in Delhi,” Gupta said.

He further said that whenever there is police action against any MlA, huge crowds gather outside police station and create law and order problem to derail police action. “Even on Sunday when the news of the arrest of Amanatullah Khan spread, thousands of his supporters created law and order problem. Even ambulances and emergency vehicles were not allowed to move thereby endangering the lives of the citizens… It is part of well-thought AAP strategy,” he alleged.

Meanwhile, the Delhi BJP demanded Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s resignation, saying his Government has “completely failed” on women security front, a day after AAP MlA Amanatullah Khan was arrested for allegedly trying to mow down a woman.

City BJP unit president Satish Upadhyay brought out a “charge-sheet” claiming there were allegations of “atrocities on women, fraud, graft and religious frenzy” against AAP workers and said the ruling party stands “exposed” on the issue of probity.
