Blaming the social media for sensationalising the incident, the Director General of UP police said we will stop the exodus of the minority community from the Greater Noida village, Bisara, where a man was lynched to death by a mob over rumours of his family having eaten beef or slaughtered a cow on Monday night.
“The Greater Noida incident was a spontaneous one. We were also shocked to know about the incident. But we have planned to control such types of incidents more effectively by our electronically controlled hi-tech control room,” said DGP of UP Jag Mohan Yadav.
“We have tested our control room and have successfully investigated the posts being published on the social media in violation of the rules. To strengthen the system further, skilled staff is being posted to monitor the unwanted posts on the media,” he said.
DGP Yadav said the forensic report of the meat over which the man Ikhlaq was lynched is yet to come. “But the case is being investigated more extensively to cover all possible angles,” he said.
