Opposing the demolition, BJP National Secretary Sardar RP Singh on Friday said all believers of Guru Granth Sahib will not allow demolition of Chhabil at Gurdwara Sheeshganj Sahib. “The Chhabil stands for the service of humanity as inscribed in Guru Granth Sahib and has been there for as long as the Gurdwara Sahib itself,” he said.
Singh said for the first time because of the Court’s decision to remove kiosk of public utility serving water to public at large, a communal tension has been created. “Even if there is contempt of Court, we will not allow this Chhabil to be demolished. We shall appreciate the Court instead of relying on a plea by an NGO, it should appoint a judicial officer to visit the site and see whether the Chhabil falls in the complex of Gurdwara Sheesganj Sahib and assess the ground situation,” Singh added.
