Delhi Urban Development Minister Arvinder Singh lovely has said that Deputy Commissioners have been instructed to conduct ‘walk through surveys’ of 895 unauthorised colonies notified in September 2012 and make videos with date, time and walk-through areas to check whether commercialisation and industrialisation is on. This step is aimed to check the misuse of Government relaxation regarding regularisation of colonies and check land mafia and builders nexus.
Regularisation was done for residential colonies only, not commercial or industrial colonies in Delhi. According to lovely, Deputy Commissioners have been also directed to specify percentage of land use, if possible. Delhi Chief Secretary DM Spolia has directed the revenue department’s Deputy Commissioners for the surveys.
