VOTE-ON-ACCOUNT: AAP Govt trying to 'benefit' pvt sectors, alleges Congress

The Delhi Congress on Friday hits out at the Arvind Kejriwal Government for reducing plan outlay in the vote-on-account and alleged that AAP's move was to "benefit" private sectors. Also, the Delhi Congress claimed that the move by the ruling party will halt all development projects in the national Capital.

"It seems that by increasing non-Plan expenditure, the AAP Government has done the work to benefit the private sectors," DPCC chief spokesperson Sharmistha Mukherjee said during a press conference.

Strangely, the Delhi Congress has woken up after 15 days as the AAP Government had passed vote-on-account on March 25. "The Government reduced Plan expenditure by Rs2,350 crore which means that development works of the capital will be stopped. It has cut Plan outlay of every sector," she further alleged.

The Congress on April 8 had formed a shadow Cabinet comprising a young team which would shadow departments of the AAP Government in Delhi and be "proactive" in taking up issues rather than just being "reactive". The heads of departments of the shadow Cabinet also came down heavily on the AAP. "It is extremely tragic that in the run up to the 2015 Delhi Assembly polls, AAP made tall promises in its manifesto about education sector but its implementation is missing from the allocations made in the 2015-16 budget," said Ragini Nayak, head of education sector.
