The odd-even car phase II that began on Friday for fifteen days was talk of netizens on the social media. The comments were mixed with some appreciating the move and a few criticizing Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for wasting public resource on the scheme that has failed to clean the city’s polluted air.

There were around 10000 statuses posted in Facebook along with number of tweets.

Some big names who posted on the social media included some famous journalists, Delhi former police commissioner BS Bassi and others.

A Facebook page by Aam Aadmi Party name posted a picture of Kejriwal with a caption, “leave your car home, skip the heat and smoke of the topic and enjoy a ride to work on the Delhi Metro.” The same page also posted, “Odd-even policy is for you …Use it to maximum and see the change in yourself as well as in the surroundings.”

Another page ‘Arvind Kejriwal as our PM,’ posted, “Delhi roads see clear #oddeven effects…very less number of cars on roads.”

A Facebook user Dilip Pandey posted a picture of NH-24 with a caption, “One of the busiest roads: all odd cars, no congestion and smooth traffic.”

But all netizens did not agree. A Facebook page, ‘Narendra Modi Namo Namo,’ posted, “Why #OddEvenKaRaita #OddEvenBegins is a failure despite big advt and crores of tax payers money spent.”

The post solicited a comment, “Delhi seems more prepared, more confident and more aware this time to support the scheme.”

Another user wrote, “IJ#IJOddEvenBeginsIJ is the most stupid nonsensical gimmick by the most dramatically charged political leader ever. There is no consideration of anyone’s convenience. Who is going to pay for the 5000 civil volunteers and all the money lost in advertising this temporary stupid dramatic moveIJ”

He further stated, “Can his ministers be volunteer and spend this money from their own salaries instead of our taxes. On top of that his annoying and disturbing voice calls saying ‘ Namaste, Mai Arvind Kejriwal bol raha hoon’. Please work and let others also work Kejriwal. IJ#IJutternonsenseIJ IJ#IJUselessGovernmenteverIJ.”

Also, Twitter was abuzz with comments of the scheme. TV journalist Bharkha Dutt tweeted, “Welcome back #OddEven I remain a supporter, want fewer exemptions (women,2-wheelers) Also more public transport, Cycle lanes @ArvindKejriwal.”
