Virus dashes Cong's plan for online applications

The grandiose plan of the Congress Party to invite online applications from  ticket aspirants for municipal polls has crashed as a deadly virus has attacked it’s website. The decision to go paperless was taken by the Delhi Pradesh Congress president Ajay Maken as the party wanted to save money and time.

The ticket aspirants had submitted soft copies of their curriculum vitaes along with their social profiles and email addresses. The party had fixed February 15, 2017 as the last date for submitting applications but later extended that till February 19, 2017 seeing the huge response from party members.

Delhi Congress has put 14 huge boxes for candidates coming from all the districts. “The party members seeking tickets submitted the pen drives in the boxes accordingly,” said a party worker adding that everyone was asked to write in their resume from which Ward they were seeking ticket. Some 12,000 applications were submitted for the 271 Wards.

The virus affected the party website after the office workers started copying the resumes from the pen drives on the office computers and found that many pen drives contained malware and viruses. The computers stopped functioning during the process as some of the pen drives were affected with deadly Trojan Horse virus said a party worker.

Engineers have been employed to the cleanse the party website but the problem has not been solved yet.

A party source said that it will take some time before the problem is fixed and till then our process to select potential candidates has been put on hold.
