Former BJP Delhi Pradesh president Vijender Gupta on Tuesday filed a criminal suit against Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit for misappropriation of public funds for campaigning during the last Assembly polls.
The hearing will take place at a special court at Tis Hazari courts. The case comes following a judgement by the lokayukta on May 22 against Dikshit for misusing public money on party affairs. Gupta contended that he had lodged a criminal case against Dikshit on June 6, but the police have not done anything so far. Hence, Gupta approached the court against Dikshit for her misdeeds.
The lokayukta had said that Dikshit misused over Vijender files suit against CM for fund misuse `22 crore in 2007-2008 for advertisements for the elections. The Chief Minister was recommended by the lokayukta to deposit `11 crore to the public treasury either from personal account or through the Congress Party.
