Victim's kin seek justice; to picket outside police station

Family members of 21-year-old girl Karuna, who was  stabbed to death by a stalker in North Delhi’s Burari on Tuesday, said they would protest outside Burari Police station on Wednesday seeking justice for Karuna.

Karuna’s uncle Vinay said they demanded stringent punishment for the accused and claimed that two more persons were involved in the murder of Karuna.

“We will protest till there is a proper justice for Karuna and till police arrest the other two persons who were involved. One person had dropped Surender on bike at labour Chowk, handed him a mobile and a weapon. This means they knew that Karuna passes by this place every day and the murder was planned. We will protest till our demands are met,” said Vinay.

The investigation is on and police are trying to trace if anyone else, apart from Surender, was involved in the murder, said a senior police official.

Neha, who was accompanying Karuna at the time of the incident, is in trauma but managed to record her statement with police.

On the basis of her statement, a case has been registered and investigation has been taken up, added the official.
