Veterans blame Centre, say ex-serviceman not part of dharna at Jantar Mantar

As the protest by the veterans entered 507th day for One Rank One Pension (OROP) policy implementation at Jantar Mantar on Wednesday, the protesters blamed the Central Government behind the death of Ram Kishan Grewal.

However they denied that the veteran Grewal tried to commit suicide at Jantar Mantar nor was he associated with the ongoing protest by the veterans. They said Grewal was not on the dharna with them even for a single day since their agitation started at Jantar Mantar.

Meanwhile in the protest, Major General Satbir Singh said, “We have written to all the CMs personally on OROP and requested them to send the letters to the PM but they didn't take any action so far, while it is their duty to raise these issues on behalf of common people, we have no intention to play political game as we are the Army personnel of this country.”

“We want justice, if the decision-makers cannot give us justice then why not we become decision-makers. Because of injustice, we are protesting against our Government and it's a matter of shame.” he further added.
