Unhappy over the exorbitant hike in fee structure, parents of the children studying in private school staged a protest at the district headquarters on Thursday and demanded intervention of the District Magistrate (DM) Nidhi Kesarwani.
The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) leader Satyapal Chaudhary who led the protest said that the private schools are violating the terms of No Objection Certificate (NOC). The NOC terms clearly state that the schools can not charge building fee, annual fee, activity charge and donations. If the schools are found charging under such heads, the NOC is liable to be null and void. Despite this the schools are continuously charging fee under these heads regularly right under the nose of the district administration.
Chaudhary demanded that the terms and conditions of the NOC must be displayed in the schools premises in bold letters.
All Schools Parents association president Sachin Soni announced that he will sit on dharna outside the office of the district inspector of schools on April 17. Soni alleged that the officers are hand in glove with the private school managements and not initiating action against schools despite clear cut intentions of the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Aditya Nath Yogi.
The DM met the delegation of the concerned parents who submitted a memorandum pertaining to their demands. Meanwhile, parents demonstrated outside public schools such as DPSG Vasundhara, Children’s Academy and Sun Valley at Indirapuram.
