The acid attack on a 26-year-old woman from Ghaziabad has severely damaged her left eye with burn injuries on face, neck and chest. The girl was admitted to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital on Tuesday, after she along with her three sisters was attacked with acid by some assailants on the bike. All the four sisters teaching at a college suffered burn injuries, said police. Kamerjahan (26), Ayisha (25), Esha (23) and Sanam (20) were attacked when they were returning from Hindu Inter-College in Kandhal after UP board exam duty on Tuesday, they said.

Two unidentified motorcycle-borne men threw acid on them while they were on their way to home, the police said. The sisters were rushed to a nearby hospital in a serious condition after which Esha, who suffered serious injuries, was refereed to Ganga Ram Hospital for specialised treatment.

“The victim has suffered seven per cent burn injuries, most of them being on the face, neck and chest but the cornea of her left eye has been damaged. She is now stable but she is traumatised after such incident. Doctors have been speaking to her and her family is with her to support,” said Mahesh Mangal, chairman of the department of Plastic Surgery at Ganga Ram Hospital. An eye surgery has been done on Wednesday, which the doctors claimed was successful. “Her left cornea is completely damaged but the right eye has been saved,” Mangal added.
