Displeased over his posting, a serving Major General of the Indian Army committed suicide at his residence in Dwarka area on Friday evening.
Major General Rajpal Singh had left a suicide note detailing the reasons behind taking this extreme step. He was recently transferred to National Cadet Core (NCC) unit in Patna and he was reportedly miffed with his transfer issued by the Army Headquarters. According to police officials, the body of Singh was found hanging from ceiling fan in his bedroom. “A suicide note was recovered. It revealed that he was upset because of his postings,” said a police official.
The body has been sent to Deen Dayal Upadhaya Hospital for post-mortem. Rajpal Singh was currently posted as Additional Directorate General of the NCC in Bihar and Jharkhand. He had come to Delhi on leave.
