After a brief chase and exchange of fire, police arrested two persons involved in robbery and murder cases, from Baneda flyover in Ghaziabad.
Subhash, resident of loni, Ghaziabad, and Amit, resident of Kalyanpuri in Delhi, were arrested after police laid a trap at the flyover on Saturday night, police said, adding no one was injured in the exchange of fire.“Police received information that two wanted criminals on a bike were headed towards Baneda flyover late Saturday night,” a senior police officer said, adding the barricades were immediately hoisted and police started checking vehicles.
On seeing the police, the duo swerved the bike. When police chased them, they opened fire to which the cops also retaliated. The two were caught some time later, the officer said, adding two countrymade pistols were recovered from them.During subsequent investigation, it surfaced that the two had been involved in loot worth `29 lakh in loni area of Ghaziabad, the officer said.
