The students' outfits National Students Union of India (NSUI) and All India Students' Association (AISA) held separate protests in the national Capital demanding the safe and early evacuation of Indian students stranded in war-ravaged Ukraine.  Members of the Left-affiliated ASIA held a protest at Jantar Mantar here while the Congress student wing NSUI staged a protest outside Shastri Bhavan on Wednesday morning. Around 15 to 20 AISA members held the protest at Jantar Mantar in Central Delhi. The protesters were seen carrying placards which read 'Indian Government must ensure safe return of trapped Indian citizens' and 'end the war before it ends you'.

"We have come here to protest against the war. We demand that diplomatic should be held and peace prevails. We are also protesting against the Indian Government because we want them to take responsibility for the death of a fellow student from Karnataka who was studying in Ukraine. We want the Indian Government to immediately bring back all the citizens and students stuck in Ukraine," said Dolan Samanta, the AISA activist and Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) student.  Prasanjeet Kumar, AISA general secretary, said, "We demand that Russia should end this war and the Indian Government bring back the students stranded in Ukraine."

Meanwhile, the NSUI members demanded an apology from Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the death of an Indian student in Ukraine. Leading the protest, Delhi unit president, NSUI, Kunal Sehrawat said the Modi Government was paying more attention towards grabbing headlines instead of focusing on the safe evacuation of students.
