According to Anyesh Roy, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Cyber Crime unit, a complaint was received from FCI that two fake websites had been created using the name of the organisation wherein, FCI website information was being misused. "The names of the websites were similar to that of the original one and the genuine FCI information was being misused by the fraudsters. During investigation, police took the technical assistance and arrested the website developer Parab Sharan Singh from Ambala around two weeks ago," said the DCP.
"On his instance, Vijay Kumar, the mastermind, was also arrested two days ago,” said the DCP.
"Interrogation revealed that Kumar, an English teacher, got the idea to create fake websites of FCI and put up fake recruitment advertisements to dupe the job seekers," said the DCP. "He took the help from his associate Singh, a B.Com drop out, to create two fake websites of FCI. Efforts are being made to identify the involvement of others," he added.
