Transporter's son missing from Gzb

The Ghaziabad business community is shocked after the son of a leading transporter has been missing since Tuesday night. The family suspects it to be a case of kidnapping. Vivek Tyagi (32), the director of Vivek Transport Company, called his wife Anjali at 11 pm on Tuesday, telling her that he was on his way home. But he has been missing ever since. His car was found parked outside a leading hotel in posh Rajnagar residential area at 1.30 am on Wednesday.

At 2 am, the police knocked the gate of the house and told the family that his car was tracked outside the Mela Plaza Hotel. Car’s papers and his driving licence were found intact in the glove compartment, along with his pistol licence. The car keys, along with his wallet and a .38 calibre pistol are with him, said victim’s father Tejpal Singh Tyagi.

The aggrieved father added that the family has requested the police to track the call details so that they could cooperate with the police in searching their son who is the father of three children.

City SP Ajay Pal Sharma said that the police have put the victim’s iPhone on surveillance. “The surveillance team is on the job to track the location. Since iPhone’s battery cannot be detached, it should be easy for the police to track the location. But assuming that the criminals may also updated with the technology, we have asked the team to be alert,” he said.

The family runs a transport company and also owns a retail outlet of a leading tyre company. The family hasn’t received any ransom call so far.
