Traffic crawls post-peak hours

Dense fog spelt havoc for road traffic causing jams at several arterial roads such as Ring Road, Delhi-Gurgaon Road and GT Road to Ghaziabad.

Bumper-to-bumper traffic was reported from several parts of the Capital as visibility had dropped significantly on Tuesday and motorists had a tough time maneuvering their way. Traffic normalised only post 11 am, when the visibility improved somewhat. According to Delhi Traffic Police, traffic snarls were triggered at Kalindi Kunj towards Noida due to breakdown of a car. With visibility dropping again in the evening, jams were reported from several parts of the city, including Moolchand, Dhaula Kuan and Mehrauli-Gurgaon Road. Traffic Police advised commuters travelling along Ring Road and headed towards Punjabi Bagh from Dhaula Kuan to avoid Raja Garden. “Commuters can take Ridge Road from Dhaula Kaun to reach Punjabi Bagh via Patel Nagar,” said an official.
