Power distribution company Tata Power Delhi Distribution ltd on Tuesday commissioned a 66/11 kV AIS Grid Substation at Siraspur in Outer Delhi. The newly commissioned substation will benefit over 55,000 existing and new customers in Siraspur, libas Pur, Ali Pur, SGTN, 2,920 EWS DDA flats, Ambay Garden, Bhagat Singh Park and adjoining areas. The total cost of the project is `38 crores.
Praveer Sinha, CEO and MD, TPDD said “The commissioning of the grid substation at Siraspur is a part of our commitment to ensure seamless power supply in our distribution area through N-1 principle which quickly restores supply overcoming contingencies. Our focus has always been on strengthening the power distribution network for quality and reliable power supply. We are continually making our network ready to meet the growing electricity demand.
“The Substation will further improve the reliability of power supply and facilitate the load growth in these areas. The newly commissioned Grid Substation has an installed capacity of 50 MVA, with 16 outgoing feeders at 11 kV level. It is an unmanned Substation and will be remotely operated from Tata PPDDl’s state-of-the-art Supervisory Controlled and Data Acquisition Center (SCADA), a senior official said.
“The substation has an incoming supply from two 66 kV underground cable circuits emanating two lines from 66KV TPDDl Badli Grid and Two 66 KV cable line proposed from upcoming 220 KV DTl grid at SGTN. This Grid is built on small area of 4,300 square meter against normal practice of 8,000 square meter and is equipped with two Power Transformers of 25 MVA capacity each and Nitrogen Injection Fire Prevention and Extinction System (NIFPES) power transformers along with auto-switched capacitor bank to ensure safe and quality power supply, he said.
