The thrust of the Delhi Police will be on improving visibility, response and service-delivery in 2019. Delhi Commissioner of Police Amulya Patnaik marked this as the New Year resolution for Delhi Police.
Patnaik also urged citizens of Delhi to devote some thought to enhance the security of their own home and colony. “If we work together, the national Capital can be a perfect example for other cities to follow,” said the police chief.
“Beat policing is being redrafted and there will be more impetus on the overall visibility of the force across the city as that would act a deterrent to the anti-social elements.
Law and Order is an issue in the national capital as it received 15 to 18 lakh of people every day and similarly, same number of people are moving out of the city to various destinations.
The anonymity of people coming to the city poses a big challenge and Delhi Police remains always on its toes”, said a senior police officer while echoing the resolve of the Delhi Police chief. “Increasing interface with the people is the core area as they all equal stake holders in policing the city.
Keeping this into consideration, Delhi Police in 2018 had launched several apps and initiatives which focused on communication between Delhi Police and citizens of National Capital”, the official added.
