A road accident case in which a toddler was killed and his father severely injured when the auto-rickshaw driven by the latter collided with a motorbike in Swaroop Nagar area on Sunday has been solved with the arrest of the accused, a 45-year-old bike rider identified as Jai Kishore, police said on Monday. The incident occurred on Sunday at 9:30 pm when Manan’s father Ashok was returning home. Ashok, who is an auto-driver, was drunk and Manan was sitting on the rear seat. It is alleged that Kishore riding his motorcycle was coming from the opposite direction and collided with the auto. “The impact of collision was so heavy that the child hit the road and apparently was crushed under wheels,” said a police officer. The father-son duo was rushed first to Babu Jagjivan Ram Hospital where Manan was declared dead. Ashok is said to be critical.
