They may be 'small in business' but their loss is "big". The plight of small traders and businessmen of the national Capital have incorporated their losses in an affidavit to be filed by Manoj Tiwari before the Supreme Court on Friday. Pertinently, Tiwari has to submit an affidavit in Supreme Court in violation of de-sealing a property, sealed by Supreme Court empowered monitoring committee — EPCA.
Sources in Delhi BJP said the party is in touch with MCD officials. "Why are they sealing legal properties and before sealing the shops, EPCA members should have done some work on legal and illegal properties, why this pick and target strategy, Delhi business man are in trouble.. it is a question of their bared and butter," said a BJP worker.
BJP workers are now demanding to seal all illegal commercial activities in Okhla , Seelampur area and other different areas in Delhi also. Speaking to The Pioneer, Vinod Arora , resident of Shankar Vihar Road said , "After knowing that Tiwari is filing affidavit, I also urged him to mention my sealed property in his affidavit."
Arora said he bought property in 1957, "My property was commercial in nature and registered under old L & DO department. My four story building purely commercial in nature has been sealed since December last year.. the monitoring committee is realising our plight..I'm in big financial loss, my earning was Rs 4 lakh from par shop.. and why I am paying Rs 25000 fix electricity charges," said Arora.
Like Arora, thousands of business men have been affected badly. Some of them are also complaining about limited span of de sealing to transfer their goods. On one side , BJP leaders are on front to lead a battle against EPCA, the shop keepers are now openly saying that the affected business will surely imbalance political leadership in Capital. "We are not associated with any party. Why EPCA is behind us. why they read DDA rules, are their people not realising Delhi was developed on L & DO rules initially?" asked a trader , severally affected from Sealing drive. Meanwhile, Delhi BJP now has the support of around five thousand traders and small businessmen. "Luckily, we came to know that Tiwari is fighting for our rights against EPCA," said.
"Okhla , Seelampur are also the area where migrated people have settled well with their small business. The EPCA's is not proceeding against them. Is't vote bank approach?" asked senior BJP worker, adding, "I doubt EPCA and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) are on one line on sealing derive."
Delhi BJP Pradesh General Secretary Rajesh Bhatia said political resolutions will be presented in these meetings in which the committee will discuss the issues like the failures of Kejriwal Government, conspiracy to economically paralyse the Municipal Corporations by withholding the funds due to them, fear of sealing among the poor people due to the wrong policies of Congress and AAP and weakening the rationing system meant for the poor people in Delhi. In addition discussion will be held on the organisational and other subject in the meetings.
