Thousands of students performed different asana in a function organised at Talkatora Stadium by the South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) on the occasion of International Yoga Day on Thursday.
The function was also attended by Member of Parliament from West Delhi Pravesh Sahib Singh Verma, SDMC Deputy Mayor Satyapal Malik, leader of Opposition Parveen Kumar, Additional Commissioner Umesh Tyagi and others.
Parvesh Verma in his address appreciated the SDMC for providing the best yoga training to the students.
He said India is possessing knowledge and skill in abundance and has been gifting valuable mantra like zero and decimal to the world.
The students displayed their excellence by performing various asanas i.e. Tarasan, Trikanasan, Shashankasan, Dandasan, Vjrasan, Bhujangasan, Makrasan, Setubandahasan, Shavsan and also practiced Pranayam.
North Delhi Municipal Corporation also celebrated the day by organising a morning event of yoga performance at the famous Ajmal Khan Park in Karol Bagh.
